Microdermabrasion assists in skin rejuvenation by removing the upper layers where dead cells and impurities exist, called the stratum corneum.

Similar to removing plaque from your teeth when you brush, Microdermabrasion exfoliates your face, neck and décolletage, taking pollutants and other impurities with it. This allows for skin rejuvenation and cell regrowth.

Microdermabrasion is an advanced skin care exfoliation and rejuvenation treatment which gently polishes the skin through the use of fine, diamond tipped crystals. These crystals provide an exfoliating action on the skin. Whilst in use, the vacuum suction of the device removes the crystals, dead skin cells and impurities to a holding chamber. The suction also stimulates blood flow to the area which improves collagen and elastin production and plumps the skin.

  • Your therapist will conduct a patch test on your forehead or some other part of your body to check your comfort level for the vacuum suction.
  • Your therapist will treat your forehead first and work slowly down your face.
  • She may gently stretch out your skin to make sure the suction is applied evenly as she moves across your face.
  • Once the vacuum part of the treatment is over, your therapist will thoroughly wipe your face.
  • Your therapist will massage a mineral mask onto your neck and face and leave it on for 5-10 minutes.
  • Your therapist will remove the mask with a damp cloth.
  • Your therapist will apply 1-2 drops of Microderma Care Oil and then sunblock to your skin.

If you feel one of these steps has been missed or hasn’t been done well, please stop your therapist and let her know. When you work together with your therapist, you will get the best possible results.
